The agency is organized into two components,
Administration and Support and
Field Operations. Within
these components are operational units commanded by an appropriate staff person. Sergeants supervise officers assigned to the
patrol function and their primary responsibility is to respond to citizen calls
for service, as well as are expected to remain pro-active in their daily
activities. In addition, the agency is
committed to community-oriented policing, and is actively involved in crime
prevention and community programs. OHAPD
operates its own communication center.
