Overview

OHA’s Employment Program connects residents to employment and training opportunities with local and regional contracting businesses.

The Family and Community Partnerships department has partnered with several agencies to
provide support with interviewing, wardrobe attire, resume building, construction training, budgeting and financial literacy, leadership, healthcare, continuing education, and more!

  • Be an OHA Public Housing Resident or a Section 8 Participant on the lease.
  • Register with FCP.
  • Have a current, up-to-date professional resume and cover letter. If you do not have a resume or cover letter, we can help you prepare one.
  • Be motivated to put in the hard work required to acquire and keep a job.
  • We will work with you to identify and accomplish employment/ personal goals.
  • Maintain regular contact with you and provide additional support.
  • Send you job leads or updates about opportunities.
  • When an opportunity comes up, we will search our database for qualified candidates based on their skills, experience and interests.
  • If your qualifications match an opportunity, we will refer you directly to the hiring manager or contact you for the next steps.
  • We can assist you in obtaining industry certifications, such as Security Guard Card and CPR First Aid.

Section 3

Section 3 is a law that encourages contractors working on HUD funded projects to offer employment and training opportunities to housing residents.
