Overview
The Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) manages and maintains 1,606 Public Housing rental units throughout the City of Oakland for eligible low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities. OHA is committed to providing decent, safe and sanitary housing, in good repair, to low-income families at an affordable rent.

Eligibility
To be eligible for Public Housing, Families must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Earn 80 percent of area median income or less as a household
- Have acceptable rental and criminal histories.
- Be U.S. citizens or have eligible immigration status.
- Pay a flat or income-based rent
