There are several reasons why your Public Housing lease may be terminated.

The family may terminate the lease at any time, for any reason, by submitting a written thirty-day notice signed by the Head of Household in person or by mail.

  • HUD requires OHA to terminate the lease under the following circumstances:
    • Failure to provide required reexamination documentation
    • Failure to accept OHA’s offer of a revised lease
    • Manufacturing or production of methamphetamine on the premises of federally assisted housing
    • Member of the household is lifetime registered sex offender
    • Failure to comply with the community service requirement
    • Death of a single person household
  • Drugs, violent and criminal activity
  • Non-compliance with lease terms
  • Unauthorized occupants
  • Threat to other residents
